It may not be all of us, but most of us have read a lot of self help books, attended motivational talks and any other thing that will make us enthusiastic about life and its challenges. As much as we read these books to imbue some inspiration, there comes a time when the passion just suddenly vanishes and the person runs out. Those of us who are strong enough have accountability partners to assist us in trying to get back the spirit of self upliftment and the sense of finding the ‘self’ in general.
Some of us do learn crucial lessons out of life and we acquire knowledge from the books we read. But can this be good enough, the answer to this question will remain rhetoric in the sense that as much as we read to acquire knowledge we also need to acknowledge as individuals that we are all peculiar and unique thus what works for you might not necessarily work for me. There come a time in your life, due to the different season that you have and every season has its lessons and consequences. A friend of mine once said to me “that we all need to do self introspection, attempt to identify who we are, and not be identified by what another perceives about us”.
When you feel shattered it is imperative that as an individual you go back to the drawing board and you look at the plans you had and find any error or success in that endeavour then this way you might be able to pull through because this will give a clue as to how you can make amendments in that error for self improvement and for success opportunities in your life.
In life we are our own ‘life managers’ therefore in whatever activity that we partake in and in anything that we do we first need to look if we’re making an informed decision and will that decision or alternative which you resort to, take you to your intended destination.
A friend of mine gave me a synopsis of frogs. We all know that a frog depends on water in order to stay alive. Now what happens when you put a frog in cold water? It leaves, right? And what happens when you continuously raise the temperature? It continues to leave, right? Wrong! It remains in the water get used to and gets comfortable with each rate of temperature. The moral of the story is that we don’t have to place or position ourselves in situations that may have repercussions that have lifelong and detrimental consequences. We need to flee from anything, situation or environment that will lead us into temptation.
What you decide to do with your life is up to you. First acknowledge God and the source of your life and make
decisions in conformity to what Gods will for your life is. If you make the choice to deviate then still you will face the consequences.
The quality of your life is directly linked to your own personal standards. The more you raise your standards in life, increasing your values and space for personal growth; this mentality will assist you to achieve a lot in your life because you will be imbued with self determination. According to woman Inc (Vol1, Issue no.2) “true success is not much about what you have obtained or what you have achieved, but who you are and who you are becoming. It is making the transition from being overly success focused, to becoming a woman or man of significance. Moreover, this significance of a man or woman is one who uses his/her knowledge and achievements, his/her wealth and resources for the benefit of others.
